Meghan and I just got back from Hamburg and I am still in awe that I was there. So far, it is definitely my favorite city. The Christmas markets took my breath away and sights were unbelievable. It was also my first time (ever) taking a train and a taxi, so they were great experiences to have here.
When Meghan and I arrived, the second busiest train station in all of Europe blew us away. So many platforms, so many shops, so many people.

Meghan was a pro at navigating the place. Oh who am I kidding, she's a pro at navigating everything! She knew the subway system like the back of her hand and while I stood three trying to decide which underground to get on, she was ten steps ahead waiting on me. Friday and Saturday we explored the city and I could not have been more impressed.
Behold, my first sight in this city - the Rathaus. Easily my favorite place. In front the Christmas Market was set up with dozens and dozens of vendors. We ate bratwurst, drank gluhwein, and purchased souvenirs and gifts for our families. The atmosphere was electric. There is now way you can't be in the Christmas spirit after being here.
We also took a harbor tour, which was amazing! Being on the water was much cooler and the wind picked up, of course, but it was totally worth it!
So, does this airport look real? Good, because it is. Sort of. It's a miniature version of an airport in Germany that we saw at Miniatur Wunderland. The planes even moved around on the runway! While all of Minatur Wunderland was fabulous, I especially liked the airport. Personally, it was a glimpse into a world I've never seen since I only flew for the first time three weeks ago.
Oh, the Christmas markets. Never before have I seen anything like this. I can only compare it to a festival we have each fall in my hometown, but with more people, more lights, and plenty of things to buy for your loved ones. Before coming to Germany, I'd heard about the Christmas markets, but they exceeded expectations! I'm so very thankful that I am getting to experience this wonderful place!
And if my family's Secret Santa happens to be reading this, your Christmas present came from here.
