The good news is that I'm back on the North American continent. The bad news is that I'm not in Kentucky. Currently, Meghan and I are in the midst of a 5 hour layover at the Toronto Pearson International Airport. We're tired. We're famished. We just want to take a nap. At least I do.
Our eight hour flight seemed longer than it did going to Germany, but I'm sure that's only because I never slept, opting instead to finish up my teacher portfolio so I'll be ready for a meeting tomorrow with my university supervisor. I cannot stress enough how this experience has changed me, both professionally and personally. I forged friendships, learned new methods of teaching, and was front and center for the chance of a lifetime to see firsthand how another culture teaches. Forever I'll be grateful for this opportunity.
In other news, it turns out I was wrong about some information about AFG. Rainer pointed out some facts I was not aware of when I compared the school to its American counterparts: AFG has two newly equipped computer labs and all 5th and 6th grade students have tablets. In fact, they're one of the first schools in the area to do this. Also, six classrooms have smart boards and all the science classrooms have projectors and portable PCs, too.
Whew! I'm glad we cleared that up!
